Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner

GI Alliance

Full-time Onsite United States

Job Description

About This Role

GI Alliance is hiring Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioners to join its outpatient GI specialty practices across multiple states. You will manage patients with inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, GERD, liver disease, and colorectal cancer surveillance — partnering with gastroenterologists to optimize patient care and expand access.

Job Overview

  • Company: GI Alliance
  • Location: Dallas, TX / Chicago, IL / Tampa, FL / Columbus, OH / Charlotte, NC
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Experience Level: Mid-level
  • Salary Range: $55–$72/hr
  • Posted Date: 2026-06-04
  • Application Deadline: 2026-07-04

Role Context

GI NPs at GI Alliance function as the primary point of contact for patients between colonoscopy procedures and specialist follow-up. You manage new patient consults, IBD infusion clinic follow-ups, pre-procedure H&P evaluations, and post-procedure result reviews. The work is outpatient-based with a consistent schedule and strong gastroenterologist collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct new patient GI consults and return follow-up visits
  • Manage IBD patients on biologic therapies including infliximab, adalimumab, and vedolizumab
  • Provide pre-colonoscopy prep education and post-procedure result counseling
  • Order and interpret GI labs, stool studies, and hepatic panels
  • Manage GERD, IBS, and functional GI disorders with pharmacologic and lifestyle interventions
  • Coordinate liver disease surveillance including cirrhosis monitoring and hepatocellular carcinoma screening

Requirements & Skills

  • FNP-BC or ACNP-BC certification
  • Active NP license and DEA registration
  • GI specialty RN or NP experience preferred; internal medicine or hospitalist NP background welcomed
  • Knowledge of biologic therapy monitoring protocols and GI pharmacology
  • Proficiency in Epic or GI-specific EHR platforms
  • Comfortable managing complex, multi-medication patients with chronic disease

Benefits & Work Conditions

  • $55–$72/hr with performance-based production bonus
  • Standard business hours — no night or weekend obligations
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Malpractice coverage fully provided
  • CME allowance for GI conferences and ANCC recertification
  • 401(k) with company match

Who Should Apply

Well-suited for NPs who enjoy subspecialty longitudinal care, are comfortable with chronic disease medication management, and want a structured outpatient practice without procedural or hospital demands. GI is one of the most in-demand NP subspecialties given the national shortage of gastroenterologists.

About the Company

GI Alliance is the largest gastroenterology practice in the United States, with over 700 physicians and advanced practice providers across 16 states. It performs more than 750,000 endoscopic procedures annually and operates IBD centers, liver disease programs, and ambulatory surgery centers nationally.
