Role Context

Kaiser NPs in primary care maintain panels of approximately 1,200–1,500 patients within a team-based pod structure. Each pod includes an NP or physician, a licensed vocational nurse, and a care coordinator. Kaiser's closed-system EHR (Epic KP) gives you direct visibility into lab results, specialist notes, pharmacy, and hospital records across the full care continuum.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a longitudinal patient panel for preventive care, chronic disease, and acute illness
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies and act on results within established timeframes
• Prescribe and manage medications using Kaiser's evidence-based formulary protocols
• Conduct population health outreach for overdue screenings and vaccination gaps
• Collaborate with specialists through warm handoffs and co-management arrangements
• Participate in department quality improvement and peer review activities

Requirements & Skills

• FNP-BC (AANP or ANCC) with active California NP license and furnishing number
• DEA registration required for California
• 2+ years of primary care NP experience preferred
• Proficiency in Epic or similar integrated EHR
• Knowledge of HEDIS measures and preventive care quality standards
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus at many Kaiser locations
