About This Role

Role Context

Concentra operates more than 550 centers nationally, making it the largest provider of occupational health services in the US. NPs see a mix of work injury cases, DOT physicals, drug and alcohol testing oversight, and urgent care walk-ins. The workflow is structured and fast-paced, averaging 25–35 patient visits per shift, with strong support staff on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat occupational injuries including sprains, lacerations, and musculoskeletal conditions
• Perform DOT physical examinations and certify commercial drivers
• Conduct pre-employment and fitness-for-duty health evaluations
• Manage workers' compensation cases and document return-to-work status
• Administer respirator fit testing, hearing conservation exams, and OSHA-mandated surveillance
• Communicate with employer case managers and HR teams on employee restrictions

Requirements & Skills

• FNP-BC or AGNP-C certification; occupational health training a plus
• Active NP license in the state of practice
• FMCSA DOT Medical Examiner certification (or willingness to obtain)
• BLS/CPR required
• Ability to perform minor procedures: suturing, splinting, joint injections
• Clear written communication for employer and insurance documentation
