About This Role

MModal (now part of Nuance/Microsoft) is hiring Clinical Documentation Specialists to work remotely as the human quality layer behind its AI-powered transcription platform. MModal's Fluency Direct and Fluency for Transcription platforms power clinical documentation at hundreds of US health systems. As AI confidence improves, the role of human specialists shifts toward reviewing edge cases, complex dictations, and quality escalations rather than routine transcription. This means CDS roles at MModal involve higher complexity work — specialist dictations, high-volume surgical specialties, and multi-provider acute care accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and complete AI-generated clinical notes using MModal's Fluency platform
• Handle high-complexity dictations including multi-surgeon op notes and complex H&Ps
• QA-review completed reports flagged by the automated quality scoring system
• Maintain production benchmarks and turnaround time commitments per client SLA
• Provide feedback to the AI training team on recurring speech recognition errors
• Mentor junior transcriptionists on account-specific terminology and workflows

Requirements & Skills

• Minimum 3 years of medical transcription experience across multiple specialties
• Advanced knowledge of surgical, acute care, and multi-specialty terminology
• Experience with MModal Fluency, Nuance Dragon Medical, or equivalent SRT platform
• Typing speed of 75+ WPM
• CMT or RHDS certification required for most accounts
• Strong EHR documentation experience — Epic, Cerner, or Meditech
