About This Role
MediCare India is looking for a skilled Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our US healthcare revenue cycle team in Delhi. You will work on complete end-to-end medical billing workflows covering coding, claim submission, payment posting, and denial management for US-based physician groups and hospitals. This is a well-compensated role for experienced coders seeking a stable, long-term career in medical revenue cycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT/HCPCS procedure codes to clinical documentation for physician and facility claims
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers via clearinghouse portals in compliance with payer-specific guidelines
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, or partially paid claims by contacting insurance companies and submitting appeals or corrected claims
- Post insurance payments, patient payments, and adjustments to patient accounts in the billing software
- Identify and resolve billing errors, coding denials, and coordination of benefits (COB) issues
- Prepare and analyse accounts receivable ageing reports and productivity metrics for department management
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, payer contracts, and CMS billing guidelines throughout all billing activities
Required Skills and Qualifications
- CPC, CCS, or CCS-P certification from AAPC or AHIMA preferred
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in US medical billing and coding across one or more specialties
- Proficiency in medical billing software (eClinicalWorks, Kareo, Athena, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and modifier usage across major payers
- Familiarity with denial management, AR follow-up processes, and Medicare/Medicaid billing rules
- Good written English for payer correspondence and appeal letter writing
