Role Context

The hospital operates across four floors with separate wards for general medicine, surgery, maternity, and paediatrics. Ward boys are assigned floor-wise and report to the nursing in-charge on each floor. Shift handovers are documented, and each ward boy receives a task checklist at the start of the shift. The hospital conducts monthly hygiene and safety audits, so protocol adherence is taken seriously.

Key Responsibilities

• Shift patients between wards, OT prep areas, and diagnostic departments safely
• Assist nurses with non-clinical patient support tasks during rounds
• Clean and prepare beds after each patient discharge or transfer
• Dispatch lab samples and collect reports from the hospital laboratory
• Maintain cleanliness of ward corridors, washrooms, and utility rooms
• Replenish linen, consumables, and PPE at nursing stations each shift
• Participate in monthly safety and hygiene audits as required by the hospital

Requirements & Skills

• Minimum 10th pass; SSC or HSC holders preferred
• Basic Marathi or Hindi communication
• Physically fit; ability to stand, walk, and lift during an 8-hour shift
• Cooperative, punctual, and comfortable following structured protocols
• Prior hospital experience preferred but freshers will be considered
• Hepatitis B vaccination required before joining
