About This Role

Hospitality Care is hiring Hospital Support Staff for ward assistant roles at a private nursing home and hospital complex in Kolkata. The role is broad — covering patient transport, ward upkeep, supply management, and nursing assistance — making it one of the most practical entry points into the healthcare workforce for candidates with no prior experience. Training is provided on joining.

Role Context

Kolkata's private hospital sector runs on a strong support staff model where ward assistants handle the physical and logistical work that allows nurses to focus on clinical care. You will be assigned to one floor of the hospital and rotate across 2 to 3 wards within that floor during your shift. The charge nurse on the floor oversees all support staff and allocates tasks at the beginning of each shift based on patient census and priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient transfers — bed to wheelchair, ward to OT prep area
• Perform routine ward cleaning including mopping, surface disinfection, and bin disposal
• Deliver food trays to patients and collect them after meals
• Collect and label samples from the ward for dispatch to the laboratory
• Restock medical consumables — gloves, cotton, gauze, syringes — at the nursing station
• Manage soiled linen collection and replacement according to the hospital schedule
• Escort patient family members to the appropriate ward or doctor cabin when needed

Requirements & Skills

• Minimum 8th or 10th pass
• Bengali-speaking preferred; Hindi-speaking candidates also considered
• No prior hospital experience required — freshers actively encouraged
• Physically active and comfortable with cleaning and lifting tasks
• Respectful toward patients and able to follow nursing staff instructions reliably
• Willing to work rotating shifts including one weekend day per week

• ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 per month
