About This Role

MediCare India is hiring Staff Nurses for its Bangalore multispecialty hospital to work across general medicine, surgical, and critical care wards. Registered nurses with a B.Sc. Nursing or GNM qualification and Karnataka Nursing Council registration are invited to apply. Both freshers completing their internship and experienced nurses with up to five years of ward experience are considered for this full-time position. The hospital operates a structured nursing department with clearly defined ward assignments and shift protocols.

Role Context

You will report to the Ward In-Charge Nurse and work within a designated ward team responsible for patient care across assigned beds. The hospital follows a nursing care plan system, and nurses are expected to document care accurately, execute physician orders precisely, and communicate patient status changes immediately to the attending team. MediCare India follows evidence-based nursing protocols and conducts regular clinical competency assessments for all nursing staff on a quarterly basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, wound dressing, and vital sign monitoring
• Implement nursing care plans and document care delivery accurately in the hospital information system
• Execute physician orders for investigations, medications, and procedures with zero tolerance for transcription errors
• Monitor patient condition and communicate deterioration or significant changes to the attending physician immediately
• Assist surgeons and physicians during ward procedures and minor interventions as required
• Educate patients and family members on discharge care, medication compliance, and follow-up schedules
• Coordinate with pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology departments for patient care continuity
• Maintain ward equipment, crash cart readiness, and sterile supply inventory as per nursing protocols

Requirements & Skills

• B.Sc. Nursing or GNM with valid Karnataka Nursing Council registration — mandatory
• 0–5 years of ward nursing experience in a hospital setting; ICU or surgical experience is an advantage
• Accurate medication administration skills with strong awareness of high-alert drug protocols
• Ability to read and implement nursing care plans and physician orders independently
• Good documentation habits for patient records, nursing notes, and handover reporting
• Composed and decisive in emergency situations — basic life support certification required
• Kannada or Hindi communication in addition to English for patient interaction in Bangalore
