About This Role

DevWave India is hiring a Data Analyst for its Mumbai analytics team. The company builds SaaS platforms for retail analytics and inventory management, and this role sits within the client insights team responsible for translating raw transaction and inventory data into actionable reports used by client operations teams. Role Context

You will report to the Analytics Manager and work alongside two data engineers and one business analyst. Your primary audience is clients — retail operations managers who need weekly and monthly dashboards to track sales performance, inventory turnover, and demand trends. You will not be handed clean data. Extracting, cleaning, and transforming raw operational data is a regular part of the job, and comfort with messy, real-world datasets is essential from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Write complex SQL queries to extract and transform data from retail transaction and inventory databases
Build and maintain client-facing dashboards in Tableau or Power BI for sales, inventory, and demand reporting
Perform root cause analysis on data anomalies and communicate findings clearly to operations and product teams
Create weekly and monthly MIS reports tailored to individual client business requirements
Collaborate with data engineers to define data model requirements for new analytics use cases
Conduct ad hoc data analysis for client requests and internal product planning sessions
Document data definitions, dashboard logic, and metric calculation methodology for each client report set
Monitor dashboard data freshness and coordinate with engineering when pipeline failures affect reporting

Requirements & Skills

1–3 years of data analysis experience in a business intelligence or analytics role
Advanced SQL skills including window functions, CTEs, and multi-table join optimization
Proficiency in Tableau or Power BI for creating business dashboards and scheduled reports
Working knowledge of Python with Pandas for data cleaning and transformation tasks
Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical queries
Strong data storytelling skills — presenting findings clearly to non-technical decision-makers
Experience with Excel for ad hoc analysis, pivot tables, and stakeholder-ready summary reporting
