About This Role

Fresher Hub is hiring a Python Developer to build backend services and automation tools for a logistics-focused software product. The work involves writing API endpoints, processing data from third-party integrations, and building internal scripts that reduce manual work for operations staff. You will work in a team of four developers led by a Senior Python Engineer.

Role Context

The product is a route optimization tool used by mid-sized courier companies. Backend services are built with FastAPI and deployed on Linux servers. The team uses PostgreSQL for storage and Redis for caching. This is not a data science role — it is focused on backend engineering, API design, and workflow automation using Python. The system processes over 10,000 delivery requests daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain REST APIs using FastAPI or Django REST Framework
• Write Python scripts to automate repetitive data processing tasks
• Integrate third-party APIs (shipping carriers, map services) into the core product
• Work with PostgreSQL databases — write queries, manage migrations with Alembic
• Debug issues reported from QA and support teams using log analysis
• Write unit tests using pytest for new features before release
• Maintain and improve existing codebase following PEP 8 standards
• Participate in architecture discussions for new feature planning

Requirements & Skills

• Solid Python programming skills — functions, classes, decorators, error handling
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django REST Framework
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or any relational database
• Comfort with Git, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows
• Understanding of REST principles and API authentication methods (JWT, API keys)
• Familiarity with Linux command line for basic server operations
• Ability to write readable, maintainable code without over-engineering
