About This Role

ByteForge India is hiring a PHP Developer for its Delhi office to work on web application development for clients in e-commerce, healthcare, and services sectors. The role involves building and maintaining Laravel-based web applications, REST APIs, and CMS-integrated platforms. This is a full-time onsite position that suits PHP developers with 1–3 years of experience who are looking for a stable product and client work environment in Delhi with a structured team and clear project ownership.

Role Context

You will be part of a four-person web development team reporting to the Lead Developer. The team handles both ongoing product maintenance and new client project delivery, typically running two to three active projects simultaneously. Timelines are realistic and client requirements are scoped before development begins. You will be expected to write clean PHP code, communicate progress clearly, and flag blockers early rather than discovering them the day before a deadline.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Laravel-based web applications for e-commerce and services sector clients
Build REST APIs consumed by mobile apps and third-party service integrations
Design and optimize MySQL database schemas for client application data requirements
Integrate third-party payment gateways, SMS APIs, and shipping provider APIs as required
Write PHPUnit test cases for business logic, API endpoints, and data validation rules
Maintain and improve existing client applications including bug fixes and feature enhancements
Participate in technical planning sessions and contribute development time estimates
Document application architecture, API routes, and deployment procedures for each project

Requirements & Skills

1–3 years of PHP development experience with Laravel as the primary framework
Strong MySQL skills including relational schema design, joins, and query optimization
Understanding of MVC architecture and RESTful API design principles
Familiarity with Blade templating and Laravel Eloquent ORM for database interactions
Experience integrating third-party APIs including payment gateways or shipping providers
Good understanding of Git version control and collaborative development workflows
Basic front-end knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for template work is helpful
