About This Role

CloudNest India builds cloud infrastructure and microservices platforms for e-commerce and retail clients. The Mumbai office is looking for a Backend Developer to join a team of eight engineers working on distributed services that handle product catalog management, order processing, and customer data synchronization. The role involves designing and building Node.js microservices that process high-volume transactions reliably and with minimal latency under peak load conditions.

Role Context

Reporting to the Backend Engineering Lead, you will work within a containerized microservices environment using Docker and Kubernetes. The team ships daily using a CI/CD pipeline built on Jenkins and deploys to AWS infrastructure. You are expected to understand service boundaries, handle inter-service communication using REST and message queues, and write services that behave predictably at scale. Code ownership is explicit — each developer maintains the services they build.

Key Responsibilities

Build and deploy Node.js microservices handling catalog, order management, and customer sync workflows
Design asynchronous processing pipelines using RabbitMQ or AWS SQS for event-driven tasks
Write APIs consumed by frontend clients and internal backend services with clear versioning
Optimize MongoDB and PostgreSQL queries for high-read-volume service endpoints
Participate in architecture discussions around service decomposition and API gateway design
Write unit and integration tests for all new services and critical regression paths
Monitor service health dashboards and investigate performance or availability anomalies
Document inter-service contracts for the shared internal API registry

Requirements & Skills

2–4 years of backend development experience in Node.js or Python
Practical experience with microservices architecture and container-based deployment workflows
Working knowledge of message queuing concepts using RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka
Strong database skills covering MongoDB for document storage and PostgreSQL for relational data
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization and orchestration tools
Understanding of API gateway patterns, authentication flows, and rate limiting strategies
Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based deployment workflows end to end

Monthly salary ₹30,000–₹60,000 depending on experience and microservices depth
