About This Role

TechAxis India is hiring a Software Developer for its product engineering team in Bangalore. The company builds SaaS platforms for mid-market clients in logistics and healthcare operations, and this role sits within an eight-person backend squad working on core platform development. Work here is feature-driven — the team ships every two weeks, and each developer owns their tasks from design through deployment. This is a hands-on development role, not a shadow or support position.

Role Context

You will report to a Senior Engineering Lead and work alongside frontend engineers, QA analysts, and product managers within a structured sprint framework. The team operates on two-week cycles with daily async standups and two in-office syncs per week. Roughly 65% of your time will be spent building new features, with the remaining time on code reviews and maintaining technical documentation. Peer reviews are a core part of the workflow, and constructive feedback is expected in both directions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs serving both web and mobile application clients
• Participate in sprint planning, task estimation, and sprint retrospective sessions
• Write well-structured, testable code aligned with the team's internal coding standards
• Review pull requests from teammates and provide specific, actionable technical feedback
• Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks flagged during code review or monitoring
• Collaborate with frontend developers to agree on API contracts before implementation begins
• Update technical documentation and inline comments as features evolve or change
• Triage and resolve bugs escalated from QA and internal support teams promptly

Requirements & Skills

• 1–3 years of professional software development experience in a product or services company
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js — the team's primary stack is Java Spring Boot
• Solid working knowledge of MySQL or another relational database
• Familiarity with REST API design, HTTP methods, and status code conventions
• Practical understanding of Git workflows including branching, merging, and pull request reviews
• Ability to write clear technical documentation that colleagues can follow without explanation
• Prior exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus
