Ascension Health – Nurse Manager Fellowship – New Grad
Ascension is one of the largest nonprofit Catholic health systems in the United States, operating 140 hospitals across 19 states and the District of Columbia. Ascension's Nurse Manager Fellowship is a nationally recognized leadership development program that provides new RN graduates with an immersive path into nursing management grounded in Ascension's Mission of serving all persons, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable.
Responsibilities
- Complete structured 18-month fellowship across multiple nursing units and administrative functions
- Shadow and co-manage a nursing unit alongside a dedicated Ascension Nurse Manager mentor
- Lead daily huddles and safety rounds on assigned nursing unit
- Assist in developing and monitoring staff competency validation and education plans
- Coordinate with pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and allied health teams on care delivery
- Participate in hospital-wide performance improvement committees
- Attend Ascension's Leadership Formation Program workshops and retreats
Requirements
- BSN required; MSN preferred or in progress
- Active RN license or NCLEX results pending within 60 days
- Recent nursing graduate (May 2024–2026)
- Demonstrated passion for nursing leadership through academic or clinical experience
- Alignment with Ascension's Mission and values
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
