About This Role

DataViz Remote India is hiring Power BI Developers for its remote analytics and business intelligence team. This is a 100% work-from-home role for professionals with 2–5 years of Power BI development experience. You will build, optimize, and maintain interactive dashboards and data models for clients in retail, BFSI, and manufacturing sectors. Strong DAX, data modelling, and Power Query skills are required. Experience with SQL and Azure Data Services is a significant advantage.

Role Context

DataViz delivers BI and analytics solutions to mid-market and enterprise clients across India and the Middle East. Power BI Developers are assigned to 2–3 client projects simultaneously and work closely with data engineers and business analysts to understand requirements and build reporting solutions. Dashboard delivery follows a sprint cycle — requirements in Week 1, prototype review in Week 2, delivery and feedback in Week 3. All development is done in Power BI Desktop with reports published to Power BI Service (cloud). Version control is managed through Git and Azure DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards from scratch based on business requirements
Develop complex DAX measures and calculated columns for advanced calculations
Build star-schema and snowflake data models in Power BI Desktop for optimal query performance
Use Power Query (M language) to clean, transform, and shape data from multiple sources
Connect Power BI to SQL Server, Azure SQL, SharePoint, Excel, and REST APIs
Publish and manage dashboards in Power BI Service — configure row-level security and refresh schedules
Optimize slow reports by reducing model size, improving DAX efficiency, and aggregating pre-calculated metrics

Requirements

2–5 years of hands-on Power BI development experience
Strong DAX — time intelligence, CALCULATE, iterator functions, context transition
Power Query / M language for data transformation
SQL — intermediate to advanced: joins, CTEs, window functions
Experience with Power BI Service — workspaces, gateways, RLS, deployment pipelines
Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse experience is a strong plus
Microsoft PL-300 certification preferred but not mandatory
