About This Role

Webworks India is hiring Entry-Level Software Engineers for its remote engineering team. This is a fully remote, full-time role open to freshers and 2023–2025 graduates in Computer Science, IT, or related fields. You will work on real product features from week one under close mentorship from senior engineers. If you have solid fundamentals in any programming language, understand basic data structures and algorithms, and are serious about building a software career, this is your starting point at a growing product company.

Role Context

Webworks builds SaaS tools for SME businesses in India and Southeast Asia. The engineering team is fully distributed — daily standups run on Slack, code reviews happen on GitHub, and sprint planning is done on Jira. Freshers are assigned to a dedicated squad of 3–4 engineers. The onboarding ramp is 4 weeks — Week 1 is understanding the codebase, Week 2 is fixing small bugs, Week 3 is writing tests, and Week 4 is your first feature assignment. Senior engineers review every pull request and leave detailed feedback. We do not expect perfection from freshers — we expect curiosity, clear communication, and consistent effort.

Key Responsibilities

Develop features and fix bugs on the Webworks product under senior engineer guidance
Write clean, readable code with comments explaining non-obvious logic
Write unit tests for all new code you write — 80%+ coverage target
Participate in code reviews — both receiving feedback and reviewing junior teammates' code after 3 months
Attend daily standup, sprint planning, and retrospective calls
Document APIs, functions, and architecture decisions in Confluence

Database: PostgreSQL and Redis
Cloud: AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda basics)
Tools: Git, GitHub, Jira, Slack, VS Code

Requirements

B.Tech / BE or BCA / B.Sc (CS/IT) — 2023, 2024, or 2025 pass-out
Proficiency in at least one language — Python, JavaScript, Java, or C++
Understanding of data structures and algorithms — arrays, trees, graphs, sorting
Basic knowledge of web concepts: HTTP, REST APIs, JSON
Prior internship or open-source contribution is a strong advantage
Laptop with 8 GB+ RAM and stable broadband for remote work
