Pharmacy Technician – CVS Health

Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and process prescription orders accurately under pharmacist supervision
- Count, pour, measure, and package medications following pharmacy SOPs and state regulations
- Communicate with physicians' offices, insurance companies, and patients to resolve prescription issues
- Process insurance claims using CVS pharmacy systems and resolve adjudication errors
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, manage controlled substance logs, and place medication orders
- Deliver exceptional patient counseling experiences in collaboration with licensed pharmacists
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in science a plus
- PTCB or ExCPT certification required or obtainable within 180 days of hire (CVS provides prep materials)
- Strong attention to detail — accuracy in dispensing medications is critical to patient safety
- Proficiency in pharmacy software; previous retail or customer service experience helpful
- State pharmacy technician registration or license (where required) obtained or in progress
