Medical Assistant – Kaiser Permanente

Responsibilities
- Room patients, take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, pulse oximetry), and document in Epic EHR
- Collect and process lab specimens including blood draws (phlebotomy), urine samples, and cultures
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for physician examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and injections per physician orders and California scope-of-practice regulations
- Assist physicians with minor procedures, dressing changes, and patient education
- Schedule follow-up appointments, process referrals, and coordinate specialist visits
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (diploma or certificate)
- CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA, or NRCMA certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred; California Phlebotomy certification a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates highly desired for many Kaiser locations
