Data Analyst – Real-World Evidence – Merck
Merck is a global biopharmaceutical company with $60B+ in revenues and blockbuster products including Keytruda, Gardasil, and Januvia. Our Real-World Evidence (RWE) team in Rahway, NJ analyzes large healthcare datasets from the real world — claims, EHR, registries, and patient-reported outcomes — to generate evidence supporting Merck's drug development, market access, and regulatory strategy.
Responsibilities
- Analyze real-world healthcare data (medical claims, EHR, registries) to study treatment patterns and patient outcomes for Merck's therapeutic areas
- Program and validate SAS and R datasets and statistical programs supporting RWE studies
- Generate analytical datasets following CDISC-inspired standards for real-world data studies
- Support pharmacoepidemiological study design and execution under senior epidemiologist supervision
- Prepare data analysis reports supporting health technology assessment (HTA) submissions and market access decisions
- Collaborate with global RWE, medical affairs, and market access teams across therapeutic area teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Data Science, or related field
- SAS or R programming proficiency required
- Knowledge of healthcare data sources (claims, EHR, EMR) and healthcare analytics concepts
- Familiarity with pharmacoepidemiology study designs (cohort, case-control, cross-sectional) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to rigorous scientific methods
