About This Role

Cognizant is hiring Cloud Support Trainees for its 2026 batch as part of its cloud services expansion in India. This role is open to engineering freshers who have a basic understanding of cloud concepts and want to build a career in cloud infrastructure support. Trainees start with Cognizant's cloud training program covering AWS, Azure, or GCP fundamentals before being deployed on a live cloud support account. This is a remote-eligible role with the option to work from home after training completion.

Role Context

Cognizant supports cloud infrastructure for Fortune 500 clients across the US and Europe. As a Cloud Support Trainee, you will initially work on Level 1 support tasks — monitoring cloud dashboards, responding to service alerts, and escalating incidents to L2 cloud engineers. The learning curve is steep but structured: Cognizant sponsors your AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals certification during the training phase. Senior cloud engineers mentor trainees daily and code-along sessions are held three times a week.

Key Responsibilities — Post Training

Monitor cloud infrastructure health dashboards for assigned client environments (AWS or Azure)
Acknowledge and triage incoming cloud alerts via ServiceNow or PagerDuty
Perform basic remediation tasks — restart services, adjust auto-scaling rules, clear stuck jobs
Escalate L2 incidents with detailed incident notes and initial RCA observations
Generate daily uptime and incident summary reports
Maintain runbook documentation for recurring incident patterns

Eligibility

B.Tech / BE in CS, IT, ECE — 2024 or 2025 pass-out
Basic understanding of Linux commands, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP), and cloud fundamentals
AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals certification is a strong advantage
Willing to work in 24x7 rotational shifts for cloud support coverage
No active backlogs, minimum 60% aggregate
