Biomedical Equipment Technician – OhioHealth

Our Clinical Engineering department in Columbus, OH is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team and ensure our diverse medical equipment fleet supports exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on all categories of medical equipment
- Conduct NFPA 99 electrical safety tests using ESA analyzers and document results
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment from manufacturers including Philips, GE, Spacelabs, and BD
- Maintain accurate records in CMMS and respond to work orders within department SLA targets
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency equipment support
- Support Joint Commission survey preparation and environment of care inspections
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field
- 0-2 years of clinical engineering or biomedical device maintenance experience
- Practical electronics troubleshooting skills and comfort with test equipment
- Customer-service mindset and effective communication with clinical teams
- CBET or CABT certification encouraged
