Biomedical Engineer – UCHealth
UCHealth is a nonprofit health care system with hospitals throughout Colorado, including the University of Colorado Hospital (one of the nation's top academic medical centers). Our Clinical Engineering team in Aurora, CO is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to manage and support our medical equipment portfolio in collaboration with clinical and research teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain medical equipment across assigned clinical units
- Conduct preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and electrical safety testing per AAMI and NFPA 99
- Assist with clinical research equipment support for University of Colorado researchers
- Evaluate new medical technology requests and support capital equipment procurement
- Maintain accurate CMMS records and ensure PM compliance metrics are met
- Provide technical training and support to nursing and clinical staff
Requirements
- BS in Biomedical Engineering or related field (0-2 years experience)
- Knowledge of clinical engineering standards (AAMI TIR12, NFPA 99, HIPAA)
- CBET or related certification in progress or planned
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced academic medical environment
