Biomedical Equipment Technician – Emory Healthcare
Emory Healthcare is the largest, most comprehensive health system in Georgia and one of the leading academic health systems in the Southeast, serving patients across a network of hospitals and outpatient facilities in Atlanta. We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support our clinical engineering department in maintaining safe and effective patient care equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and safety testing on medical equipment per established schedules and manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of clinical equipment including patient monitors, defibrillators, and infusion pumps
- Accurately document all maintenance activities in computerized maintenance management system
- Respond to biomedical equipment emergencies and equipment-down situations in clinical areas
- Assist with equipment installations and re-locations within hospital facilities
- Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission and Georgia Department of Community Health standards
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Biomedical Technology, Electronics, or Engineering
- 0-2 years of hospital biomedical or electronics maintenance experience
- Ability to use test equipment (ESA tester, digital multimeter, oscilloscope) effectively
- CBET certification preferred or willing to pursue within 3 years
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including on-call rotation
