Clinical Biomedical Engineer – University of Michigan Health
Michigan Medicine / University of Michigan Health is one of the nation's premier academic medical centers and home to a world-renowned biomedical engineering research program. Our Clinical Engineering department in Ann Arbor is seeking a Clinical Biomedical Engineer to support our advanced medical devices and equipment across our hospital network.
Responsibilities
- Manage equipment lifecycle for assigned clinical departments including capital planning, procurement, and decommissioning
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on specialized research and clinical medical devices
- Collaborate with U-M faculty researchers on clinical research equipment support
- Evaluate emerging medical technologies and make acquisition recommendations
- Support HIPAA-compliant medical device cybersecurity risk assessments
- Coordinate training programs for clinical staff on new device deployments
Requirements
- BS in Biomedical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred but not required)
- 0-2 years of clinical engineering or related experience
- Interest in medical device cybersecurity and health IT integration
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a large academic medical center environment
