Biomedical Engineer Associate – UCSF Health

Our Clinical Engineering team in San Francisco is seeking a Biomedical Engineer Associate to maintain the complex medical devices that support our patient care and cutting-edge clinical research missions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, and repair medical imaging, patient monitoring, and laboratory instrumentation
- Assist with medical device integration projects connecting devices to hospital information systems (EHR/EMR)
- Support clinical trials requiring specialized equipment monitoring and calibration
- Coordinate with IT teams on cybersecurity assessments for connected medical devices
- Participate in technology assessments for capital equipment purchasing decisions
- Develop training materials and educate clinical staff on new equipment
Requirements
- BS in Biomedical Engineering or Clinical Engineering
- 0-2 years experience; academic medical center or research hospital experience valued
- Interest in medical device cybersecurity and health information technology
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
