Clinical Biomedical Engineer – Cleveland Clinic
Cleveland Clinic is a nonprofit multispecialty academic medical center and one of the nation's most respected hospitals. Our Biomedical Engineering department is seeking a Clinical Biomedical Engineer to maintain and support the vast array of medical equipment used in patient care across our Cleveland campuses.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled corrective maintenance on medical equipment
- Conduct incoming inspections and equipment acceptance testing for new device acquisitions
- Troubleshoot and repair complex biomedical equipment including patient monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps
- Maintain accurate service records in the CMMS and ensure PM compliance metrics
- Educate clinical staff on proper operation and care of biomedical equipment
- Support Joint Commission survey readiness and regulatory compliance activities
Requirements
- BS in Biomedical Engineering or Biomedical Equipment Technology (or equivalent)
- 0-2 years clinical engineering experience; new graduates welcome
- CBET certification preferred or willingness to pursue within 2 years
- Strong electronic troubleshooting and repair skills
- Customer-service oriented with excellent communication skills
