Job Description

Clinical Biomedical Engineer – Cleveland Clinic

Cleveland Clinic is a nonprofit multispecialty academic medical center and one of the nation's most respected hospitals. Our Biomedical Engineering department is seeking a Clinical Biomedical Engineer to maintain and support the vast array of medical equipment used in patient care across our Cleveland campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled corrective maintenance on medical equipment
  • Conduct incoming inspections and equipment acceptance testing for new device acquisitions
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex biomedical equipment including patient monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps
  • Maintain accurate service records in the CMMS and ensure PM compliance metrics
  • Educate clinical staff on proper operation and care of biomedical equipment
  • Support Joint Commission survey readiness and regulatory compliance activities

Requirements

  • BS in Biomedical Engineering or Biomedical Equipment Technology (or equivalent)
  • 0-2 years clinical engineering experience; new graduates welcome
  • CBET certification preferred or willingness to pursue within 2 years
  • Strong electronic troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Customer-service oriented with excellent communication skills
