Audit Associate – Statutory Audit | Deloitte India | Mumbai

About This Role

Deloitte India is hiring Audit Associates for its Audit and Assurance practice in Mumbai. You will work on statutory audits for listed companies and large private enterprises across manufacturing, BFSI, and consumer sectors. This is an ideal role for CA freshers or CA final students who want to begin their assurance career at one of the Big Four firms. The role provides intensive technical exposure and client-facing experience from the first engagement.

Role Context

You will be assigned to client engagement teams of 3–8 members led by a Senior Associate or Manager. Audit cycles are seasonal, with peak periods from January to May. Your work involves testing financial statement line items, documenting evidence, and drafting audit observations. Deloitte follows a risk-based audit methodology and uses its proprietary audit technology platform for documentation and workflow management.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute audit procedures for assigned financial statement sections
• Collect and evaluate audit evidence from client teams
• Prepare working papers with clear cross-references and documented conclusions
• Identify control deficiencies and document audit observations for manager review
• Communicate professionally with client finance and accounts teams for information requests
• Assist in preparation of management letters and audit committee presentations

Requirements & Skills

• CA Final cleared (fresher) or CA Final student with articleship experience preferred
• Solid understanding of Ind AS, Companies Act 2013, and auditing standards
• Good working knowledge of Excel — data analysis, reconciliations, and pivot tables
• Professional communication skills — written and spoken English
• Willing to travel to client sites within Mumbai and occasionally outside
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
