About This Role

Meerut Commerce Associates, a chartered accountancy firm, is hiring an Accounts Assistant to support client bookkeeping, GST billing, and payroll processing. This is a full-time, office-based role ideal for B.Com freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of accounts experience who want to build a strong practical accounting foundation by working across multiple client accounts in a CA firm environment.

Role Context

The firm has 28 active clients — a mix of traders, manufacturers, and small service companies across Meerut. As an accounts assistant, you will be assigned to 6–8 clients and handle their monthly bookkeeping, GST return preparation data, and payroll registers. The CA partner reviews all filings before submission. You will develop speed and accuracy by working on diverse accounts simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain books of accounts for assigned clients in Tally Prime
• Prepare monthly GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B data for CA review and filing
• Process client payroll — salary registers, PF/ESI working, Form 16 data
• Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly ledger summaries
• Assist in TDS calculation and quarterly return data preparation
• File and organise client vouchers and supporting documents

Requirements & Skills

• B.Com pass or final year — freshers preferred for this entry-level role
• Working knowledge of Tally Prime — even basic level is acceptable
• Awareness of GST and TDS concepts from college curriculum
• Careful, detail-oriented work approach — errors in client accounts have compliance consequences
• Willingness to learn quickly across multiple client types
• Meerut resident preferred for convenient daily commute to our office
