Role Context

Citi Finance analysts work in product control, financial planning, or treasury management depending on division assignment. Product control analysts support trading desks with daily P&L production; FP&A analysts support corporate reporting cycles. All new analysts go through a 2-week induction covering Citi's financial systems, risk frameworks, and reporting standards before starting team placement.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce daily P&L reports or monthly financial packages for assigned business lines
• Reconcile general ledger to source systems and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare analysis of key financial metrics for senior management review
• Assist with regulatory capital and liquidity reporting under Basel III standards
• Maintain financial models in Excel and support automation initiatives
• Participate in quarter-end close and support external audit requests

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics
• Solid grounding in financial statements and accounting fundamentals
• Advanced Excel skills; SQL or Python a significant plus
• Detail-focused with ability to work independently under reporting deadlines
• Clear written communication for management-facing deliverables
• Internship at a bank or financial institution preferred
