Role Context

KPMG Audit Associates rotate across 4–6 client engagements per year, building broad sector experience quickly. The firm uses a data-driven audit approach through its KPMG Clara platform, which means associates learn to use analytics tools alongside traditional audit procedures from their first engagement. New hires go through a national onboarding program at KPMG's Learning & Development facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute audit test procedures using KPMG Clara and Excel-based workpapers
• Perform walkthroughs of client business processes and document internal controls
• Reconcile financial statement line items to underlying client schedules
• Prepare audit evidence files meeting PCAOB documentation standards
• Communicate open items and follow-ups with client accounting staff
• Support managers and seniors in drafting audit committee presentations

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting (150 hours preferred)
• Solid understanding of financial accounting and GAAP principles
• Proficient in Excel; data analytics exposure is beneficial
• Strong work ethic and willingness to travel to client sites during busy season
• Collaborative mindset for working in close-knit engagement teams
• CPA exam eligibility; KPMG supports exam preparation and fees
