Role Context

McKinsey Business Analysts work directly on client teams as full contributors from their first week. You will own specific analytical workstreams — typically data gathering, financial modeling, or market analysis — while learning from Engagement Managers and Partners who have decades of advisory experience. The role serves as a 2-year pre-MBA track, after which most BAs pursue top MBA programs with McKinsey's support.

Key Responsibilities

• Join client engagement teams and own defined analytical workstreams end-to-end
• Conduct data gathering through client systems, expert interviews, surveys, and market research
• Build financial models, benchmarking analyses, and executive PowerPoint decks
• Identify root causes of client business problems and develop data-driven recommendations
• Generate and test hypotheses to structure problem-solving for complex business challenges
• Participate in McKinsey's structured learning and mentorship programs

Requirements & Skills

• Undergraduate degree from any major (applications open July 1, 2026)
• Exceptional academic performance; McKinsey acceptance rate is under 1%
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with structured problem-solving ability
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence senior stakeholders
• High intellectual curiosity and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (sponsorship available for eligible candidates)
