Remote Billing Clerk Part Time Jobs Canada Work From Home

HomeOffice Canada

Part-time Remote Canada

Job Description

HomeOffice Canada manages billing and accounts receivable operations for dental clinics, physiotherapy practices, and professional service firms across Canada. Our remote billing clerks process invoices, submit insurance claims, follow up on outstanding balances, and keep our clients' AR aging reports clean and accurate — entirely from home. We are currently looking for an accurate and methodical part-time Remote Billing Clerk to join our financial operations team.

Billing errors are costly and stressful for the client businesses we support. Attention to detail is not optional in this role — it is the entire job. You will need to understand billing codes, cross-check claim submissions against treatment records, and communicate professionally with insurance companies and patients when following up on unpaid balances. Healthcare billing experience is preferred, but we will train the right candidate who demonstrates strong numeracy and detail orientation.

Daily Workflow:

You start by processing new invoices and insurance claims from the previous business day. You then work through the outstanding AR report, prioritizing accounts that are 30 or more days overdue, making follow-up calls or sending reminder emails as appropriate. You update all records in the billing system and end your shift with an activity summary for the account manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate and submit patient or client invoices through the assigned billing platform
  • Submit insurance claims to provincial health plans and private insurers on behalf of clinical clients
  • Track submitted claims and follow up on outstanding or rejected claims within defined timelines
  • Post payments received via cheque, EFT, or credit card to the correct patient or client accounts
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, duplicate charges, and claim denials
  • Prepare weekly AR aging reports and present outstanding balances to the account manager
  • Communicate with patients or clients by email or phone regarding overdue balances
  • Maintain detailed records of all billing activity in the practice management or accounting system

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, medical billing, or accounting
  • Experience with medical billing software such as Telus Health, Practice Fusion, or Healthquest is preferred
  • Strong numerical accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in all data entry tasks
  • Professional telephone manner for patient-facing follow-up communications
  • Understanding of insurance claim submission processes and common rejection codes is a significant asset
  • Ability to manage a high volume of billing transactions without sacrificing accuracy

What You Will Receive:

  • $20–$27/hr based on specialization and volume
  • 20–25 hours per week with consistent Monday-to-Friday scheduling
  • Fully remote — work from home anywhere in Canada
  • Billing software access and client system training provided
  • Direct support from senior billing supervisors throughout your onboarding period
  • Potential for full-time conversion as client portfolio grows

If you are organized, accurate, and comfortable navigating the nuances of insurance billing and collections, we want to hear from you. Apply today with your CV and any relevant billing certifications.
