NorthPack Canada is hiring certified Forklift Operators to join our Ottawa fulfilment centre inbound and outbound operations team. This is a full-time onsite position for experienced power industrial truck operators who hold a valid Ontario forklift certification and are ready to contribute to a high-volume warehouse operation in Ottawa. At NorthPack Canada, our forklift operators are essential to keeping inventory moving safely and efficiently through every stage of our fulfilment process.

As a Forklift Operator at our Ottawa facility, you will operate counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, and powered pallet jacks to move, stage, and load inventory and freight throughout the warehouse. You will work to strict safety standards in a busy fulfilment environment with multiple concurrent warehouse operations running across your shift.

What Your First Week Looks Like:

You'll complete NorthPack Canada's paid forklift operator site orientation covering our specific equipment types, travel routes, load weight limits, pedestrian safety rules, and pre-shift inspection procedures at our Ottawa facility. By day three you'll be operating independently in your assigned warehouse zones.

Responsibilities:

• Operate counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, and powered pallet jacks safely throughout the Ottawa warehouse facility
• Move inbound pallets of inventory from receiving docks to designated storage locations accurately and efficiently
• Stage outbound freight pallets in designated loading lanes and assist with trailer loading to departure schedules
• Conduct mandatory pre-shift equipment inspections and report any defects or safety concerns before operating
• Follow all pedestrian safety protocols including speed limits, horn use at intersections, and load height restrictions
• Assist warehouse management with cycle counts, pallet organization, and inventory location moves as directed
• Complete accurate forklift usage logs, incident reports, and near-miss documentation as required by NorthPack Canada policy

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario forklift operator certification (counterbalance minimum; reach truck certification preferred)
• Minimum one year of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment
• Must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in Canada
• Physical ability to operate equipment safely and perform manual handling tasks during the shift
• Availability for rotating day, evening, and overnight shifts including weekends at our Ottawa facility
