The United States Postal Service (USPS) is hiring Mail Carriers, Postal Clerks, and Mail Processing Assistants across the country in 2026. Available USPS Positions
- City Carrier Assistant (CCA): Deliver mail and packages on assigned city routes using a USPS vehicle. Starting pay: $20.13/hr. Pathway to career regular carrier status. Age 18+. Driver's license required.
- Rural Carrier Associate (RCA): Deliver mail on rural routes using your own vehicle (mileage reimbursed). Starting pay: $20.27/hr. Age 18+. Driver's license required. Own a reliable vehicle.
- Postal Support Employee / Clerk: Sort and distribute mail, operate postal equipment, and assist customers at the post office counter. Starting pay: $18.64/hr. Age 18+. No driver's license required.
- Mail Processing Assistant: Sort packages and mail using automated processing equipment at a USPS mail processing and distribution center. Pay: $19.33/hr. Shift work including nights and weekends. Age 18+.
Requirements
- US citizen or lawful permanent resident
- 18 years or older (or 16 with high school diploma)
- Pass the USPS Virtual Entry Assessment (VEA) — the online hiring test
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Valid US driver's license for carrier roles — clean driving record
- Ability to lift mail and packages up to 70 lbs
