About This Role
BlackRock India is hiring fresher Equity Portfolio Analysts for its Active Equities investment team. BlackRock is the world's largest asset manager with $10 trillion+ in AUM. BlackRock's Systematic Active Equity (SAE) team blends fundamental investing with quantitative portfolio construction — using factor models, machine learning signals, and alternative data to construct alpha-generating Indian equity portfolios for BlackRock's global institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental equity research on Indian listed companies for BlackRock's Systematic Active Equity (SAE) India strategies
- Build alpha factor models: combining fundamental signals (ROE, earnings quality, free cash flow) with quantitative factor scores
- Analyse portfolio risk using BlackRock's Aladdin Risk platform: factor exposure, tracking error, and active share measurement
- Perform portfolio attribution analysis: sector allocation, stock selection, and factor contribution to active returns
- Research alternative data signals for India equities: satellite imagery, credit card transaction data, and web traffic patterns
- Prepare Investment Committee presentations combining fundamental and quantitative investment insights
Requirements & Skills
- MBA (Finance) / M.Tech (Computer Science, Statistics) / M.Sc (Quantitative Finance) from a premier institution (2025/2026 batch)
- Strong combination of fundamental equity skills and quantitative/programming ability
- Python and SQL proficiency for factor analysis and portfolio analytics
- Understanding of equity factor models (CAPM, Fama-French), portfolio construction, and risk management
- CFA Level I cleared and exposure to quantitative finance concepts
