Equity & Credit Analyst (Associate – Fresher)

Fitch Ratings India

Full-time Hybrid India

Job Description

About This Role

Fitch Ratings India is hiring fresher Associate Analysts for its Financial Institutions and Corporate ratings teams. Fitch is one of the world's three major credit rating agencies. India-based analysts assess the creditworthiness of Indian banks, NBFCs, and corporate issuers — their credit ratings determine how billions of dollars in Indian bonds and structured securities are priced in global debt markets. This role combines credit analysis, equity research, and financial modelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct credit analysis of Indian financial institutions (banks, NBFCs, insurance companies) and corporates (infrastructure, chemicals, consumer)
  • Build financial models for rated entities: asset quality analysis, capital adequacy (CRAR), liquidity ratios, and earnings projections
  • Assess equity market signals: credit default swap (CDS) spreads, bond yields, and stock price correlation with credit risk
  • Write credit rating reports, outlook changes, and rating action commentaries published by Fitch globally
  • Present analytical findings at Fitch's internal rating committees with sector heads and MD-level analysts
  • Monitor rated entities: quarterly earnings reviews, regulatory changes, and credit-negative events

Requirements & Skills

  • MBA (Finance) or CA/CFA Level I from a recognised institution (2025/2026 batch)
  • Strong financial analysis skills: credit assessment, ratio analysis, and financial statement interpretation
  • Understanding of Indian banking sector, NBFC landscape, and RBI prudential regulations
  • Good written English for credit rating report writing
  • CFA or FRM pursuit is strongly encouraged at Fitch

Benefits & Work Conditions

  • Competitive salary with Fitch annual bonus
  • Fitch's structured Associate Analyst development programme
  • CFA and FRM certification support funded by Fitch
  • Hybrid work with Fitch's Mumbai and Bengaluru offices
  • Unique exposure to credit markets, bond pricing, and regulatory analysis for Indian financial institutions
