Equity Analytics Analyst (Fresher)

About This Role

MSCI India is hiring fresher Equity Analytics Analysts. MSCI is the world's most important equity index provider — the MSCI Emerging Markets, MSCI World, and MSCI India indices are tracked by $15 trillion+ in assets globally. A stock being included in or excluded from the MSCI India Index can move its price by 5–10%. You will work on MSCI's equity index construction, factor analytics, and ESG rating processes that directly impact global equity flows.

Key Responsibilities

• Support MSCI's India and global equity index construction and maintenance: inclusion criteria, free float calculations, and rebalancing
• Build factor model analytics for MSCI Barra factor models (size, value, momentum, quality, low volatility) covering Indian equities
• Conduct ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) data analysis for Indian companies in MSCI ESG Ratings
• Analyse MSCI Index rebalancing impacts: constituent additions/deletions, weight changes, and FII passive flow implications
• Support client queries on MSCI Index methodologies, factor exposures, and ESG score interpretation
• Produce regular MSCI India Index analytics reports for institutional clients and index fund managers

Requirements & Skills

• MBA (Finance) or B.Tech/M.Sc (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics) from a recognised institution (2025/2026 batch)
• Strong quantitative skills: statistics, linear algebra, and factor model concepts
• Financial data analysis proficiency in Excel and Python/R
• Understanding of equity markets, index funds (ETFs), and quantitative investing
• CFA Level I cleared or CAIA pursuit is a strong advantage
