About This Role
CLSA India is hiring Graduate Equity Research Analysts for its India Research team. CLSA is Asia's most respected equity broker and research house, consistently voted #1 in India equity research by Asiamoney, Institutional Investor, and Greenwich Associates. CLSA India Research covers 150+ Indian companies and is the preferred equity research partner for global hedge funds investing in India.
Key Responsibilities
- Build sophisticated financial models for Indian listed companies: multi-year P&L projections, SOTP, DCF, and scenario analysis
- Write detailed research reports in the distinctive CLSA style: clear investment thesis, risks, and catalysts
- Attend annual general meetings, capital market days, and company management meetings
- Conduct primary research: distributor surveys, channel checks, expert network calls, and consumer surveys
- Produce India macro research: monsoon impact, budget analysis, RBI policy, and FII/DII equity flow commentary
- Support CLSA's institutional sales team with client queries, roadshow preparation, and India portfolio reviews
Requirements & Skills
- MBA (Finance) from a premier institution or CFA Level II cleared (2025/2026 batch)
- Outstanding financial modelling skills and analytical writing ability
- Deep passion for Indian equity markets with a demonstrable track record of sector tracking
- Bloomberg proficiency; SEBI Research Analyst registration is a strong advantage
- Prior equity research internship at a brokerage firm is highly preferred
