About This Role
Nomura India is hiring fresher Equity Research Analysts for its India Research team based in Mumbai. Nomura is Asia's largest investment bank and one of the top equity brokers for FII clients in India. Nomura India Research covers 120+ Indian companies and is consistently ranked among the top equity research franchises in India by Asiamoney. You will support senior analysts covering India's technology, BFSI, and consumer sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models for Indian listed companies: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and sum-of-the-parts valuation
- Write earnings preview notes, results review notes, and thematic reports for Nomura's institutional clients globally
- Attend company management calls, investor conferences, and analyst days; summarise key takeaways for the research team
- Analyse quarterly results of covered companies: beat/miss analysis, guidance tracking, and forecast revision
- Produce India equity strategy research: Nifty 50 earnings forecasts, sector allocation, and FII flow analysis
- Support Nomura's Tokyo and Hong Kong equity sales teams with India stock ideas and sector views
Requirements & Skills
- MBA (Finance) or CFA Level I from a recognised institution (2025/2026 batch)
- Strong financial modelling skills; Excel and Bloomberg proficiency
- Passion for Indian equity markets and sector analysis
- Good writing and communication skills for research reports and management meetings
- Knowledge of Japanese capital markets is advantageous (not mandatory)
