About This Role
HSBC Securities India is hiring fresher Equity Research Analysts for its India Equity Research team. HSBC Research is consistently ranked among the top equity research franchises in Asia by Asiamoney and Greenwich. You will support senior analysts covering India's largest listed companies — building financial models, attending earnings calls, and contributing to research reports read by institutional investors managing trillions of dollars.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed financial models for Indian listed companies: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and DCF/EV valuation
- Assist senior analysts in writing earnings notes, sector updates, and thematic research reports for HSBC's institutional clients
- Track quarterly results of covered companies: update forecasts, revise price targets, and write quick notes
- Conduct primary research: management meetings, channel checks, customer surveys, and plant visits
- Analyse industry-specific data: volume trends, pricing dynamics, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape
- Use Bloomberg, FactSet, and BSE/NSE analytics for market data and company financial data extraction
Requirements & Skills
- MBA (Finance) or CFA Level I cleared from a recognised institution (2025/2026 batch)
- Strong financial modelling skills in Excel; knowledge of DCF, EV/EBITDA, and P/E valuation methods
- Good writing skills for research report and investment thesis articulation
- Passion for equity research and a demonstrated interest in Indian listed companies
- SEBI-registered Research Analyst (NISM Series XV) certification is a strong advantage
