About This Role
Morgan Stanley India is hiring New Graduate Equity Research Analysts for its India Research team. Morgan Stanley Research is consistently ranked #1 or #2 globally by institutional investors. India-based analysts support coverage of Indian equity sectors — writing detailed research reports, building financial models, and generating investment recommendations that move markets for India's most traded stocks.
Key Responsibilities
- Build detailed financial models for Indian listed companies: P&L projections, balance sheet, DCF valuation, and earnings estimates
- Assist lead research analysts in writing sector reports, earnings preview/review notes, and initiation of coverage (IC) reports
- Track quarterly earnings of covered companies: attend management calls, update models, and revise price targets
- Conduct company management meetings, conference calls, and plant visits with Morgan Stanley's institutional clients
- Analyse industry data: sales volumes, government policy announcements, sectoral trends, and competitor benchmarking
- Use Bloomberg, CMIE Prowess, ACE Equity, and Morgan Stanley proprietary tools for data extraction and analysis
Requirements & Skills
- MBA (Finance) or CFA Level I cleared from a recognised institution (2025/2026 batch)
- Strong equity research skills: financial modelling, ratio analysis, and equity valuation
- Good writing ability for research report drafting and investment thesis articulation
- Passion for Indian equity markets and a track record of following sectors or stocks
- Bloomberg and Excel proficiency; NISM Research Analyst certification is a plus
