Trade Finance Analyst (Graduate Trainee)

About This Role

HSBC India is hiring Graduate Trainee Trade Finance Analysts for its Global Banking & Markets (GBM) and Commercial Banking divisions. HSBC is the world's largest trade finance bank. You will process and structure trade finance instruments — Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Documentary Collections, and Supply Chain Finance — supporting India's import-export trade flows.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Letters of Credit (LC) issuance, amendment, and negotiation per UCP 600 and URC 522 rules
• Handle documentary collections (D/A and D/P terms) and Bank Guarantee issuance for corporate clients
• Conduct document scrutiny for LC discrepancies, ensure compliance with trade finance regulations
• Process Supply Chain Finance (SCF) transactions: invoice discounting, reverse factoring, and dynamic discounting
• Perform AML/KYC screening on trade transactions for sanctions compliance (OFAC, UN, EU)
• Liaise with correspondent banks globally for LC advising, reimbursement, and confirmation

Requirements & Skills

• MBA (Finance/International Business) or B.Com/BBA from a recognised university (2025/2026 batch)
• Basic understanding of trade finance instruments: LC, BG, SBLC, Documentary Collections
• Good knowledge of FEMA, RBI trade regulations, and INCOTERMS
• Attention to detail for document checking and compliance verification
• Good communication skills for client and correspondent bank interaction
