ESG Analyst – Investment Stewardship – State Street Global Advisors (SSGA)

SSGA's Asset Stewardship team is one of the most active in the industry, voting proxies and engaging with 10,000+ companies on ESG issues. We are hiring ESG Analysts in Boston to join this influential team shaping corporate sustainability globally.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ESG analysis and corporate governance research on companies across SSGA's global equity portfolio
- Evaluate board independence, executive compensation, audit quality, and shareholder rights governance practices
- Assess corporate climate transition plans against net-zero commitments and science-based emissions targets
- Support SSGA's proxy voting activities across 12,000+ annual meetings worldwide
- Draft shareholder engagement letters and prepare materials for in-person board meetings and management calls
- Contribute to SSGA's annual stewardship report and ESG thought leadership publications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Environmental Science, or Political Science
- Genuine passion for corporate governance, ESG investing, and responsible capital allocation
- Strong analytical skills with ability to read and interpret financial statements and proxy disclosures
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, or ESG databases is a plus
- Exceptional written communication skills for stewardship correspondence and publications
