ESG Research Analyst – BlackRock

We are hiring ESG Research Analysts in New York to join our Sustainable Investing team — integrating ESG data into investment decision-making across equity, fixed income, and multi-asset portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ESG research and analysis on public companies across sectors, assessing material ESG risks and opportunities relevant to portfolio performance
- Analyze corporate sustainability reports, proxy filings, CDP disclosures, and third-party ESG data to evaluate company ESG practices
- Develop ESG scoring models and integrate ESG signals into BlackRock's Aladdin risk management platform
- Support BlackRock's stewardship activities — including proxy voting analysis and shareholder engagement preparation
- Monitor regulatory developments in ESG disclosure (SEC climate rules, EU SFDR, ISSB standards) and assess implications for fund reporting
- Prepare ESG research reports, client presentations, and investment committee materials
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or Sustainability
- Strong interest in sustainable investing, ESG factors, and the role of capital markets in driving corporate sustainability
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; Python or R for ESG data analysis is a plus
- Familiarity with ESG data providers (MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP, Bloomberg ESG) is highly valued
- Strong analytical writing and communication skills for research report preparation
