Staff Accountant – KPMG
KPMG, one of the Big Four global accounting and advisory firms, is hiring Staff Accountants in our Audit and Tax practices in New York. Responsibilities
- Assist senior accountants and managers in financial statement audits for public and private companies
- Prepare and review working papers, reconciliations, and audit documentation
- Test internal controls and evaluate compliance with GAAP and PCAOB standards
- Prepare corporate and individual tax returns and assist with tax research and planning
- Interact with client personnel to obtain documentation and clarify accounting treatments
- Participate in KPMG's structured Staff Accountant development and mentoring program
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field (150 credit hours preferred for CPA eligibility)
- GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statement analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Eligible to sit for CPA exam or currently pursuing CPA licensure
