Data Analyst – Payment Insights – Visa
Visa is the world's leader in digital payments, processing over 200 billion transactions annually across more than 200 countries and territories. We are seeking a Data Analyst on our Payment Insights & Analytics team in Foster City, CA — turning Visa's extraordinary window into global commerce into strategic intelligence for banks, merchants, and governments worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Analyze Visa's global transaction network data to generate spending insights by geography, merchant category, and consumer segment
- Build data products and analytical reports for Visa's bank issuer and merchant clients
- Support econometric modeling projects including consumer spending forecasts and macroeconomic indicators
- Create compelling data visualizations and Tableau dashboards for Visa's consulting and advisory services teams
- Design analytical frameworks for measuring the impact of Visa programs on payment volume and merchant performance
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve data pipelines and analytical infrastructure
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Finance
- Strong SQL skills for querying Visa's data warehouse (Hadoop, Teradata)
- Python or R proficiency for statistical modeling and data analysis
- Tableau or Power BI experience for client-facing visualization
- Excellent verbal and written communication for client-facing analytical work
