Data Analyst – Customer Insights – American Express

We are hiring a Data Analyst to join our Customer Insights & Analytics team in New York — mining one of the world's richest cardholder datasets to drive marketing, rewards, and customer experience strategy.
Responsibilities
- Analyze cardholder spending behavior, transaction data, and engagement patterns across AmEx's global network
- Build customer segmentation models to identify growth opportunities and personalized marketing strategies
- Support design and analysis of targeted offer campaigns, loyalty program analytics, and acquisition analytics
- Create executive dashboards and performance reports using Tableau and internal AmEx analytics platforms
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and risk teams to develop shared analytical frameworks
- Apply statistical techniques including regression, clustering, and time-series analysis to answer business questions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative discipline
- Strong SQL skills for querying relational and columnar data stores
- Python or SAS proficiency for data analysis and model development
- Experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools
- Strong business acumen with ability to connect analytical findings to commercial outcomes
