Audit Staff Accountant – Crowe LLP

Our Chicago office is seeking Audit Staff Accountants to join our Financial Services, Healthcare, and Government audit teams with immediate client responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform financial statement audit procedures for banks, credit unions, hospitals, and government entities
- Execute tests of internal controls and substantive audit procedures using Crowe's risk-based audit approach
- Prepare audit documentation in Crowe's electronic workpaper system
- Interact directly with client accounting and finance staff to request and discuss audit evidence
- Assist with financial statement tie-outs, disclosure checklists, and audit report preparation
- Attend Crowe's national New Staff Training and ongoing technical education programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting (150 hours for IL CPA preferred)
- Commitment to pursuing CPA licensure; Crowe provides full exam support
- Strong interpersonal skills and genuine curiosity about how businesses work
- Ability to work collaboratively on audit teams and manage multiple client deadlines
- Internship experience in public accounting is a plus but not required
