Accountant – Corporate Finance – Starbucks
Starbucks is the world's largest coffeehouse chain with 36,000+ stores in 80 countries and $35B in annual revenue. Starbucks' Finance team in Seattle supports one of the world's most recognized consumer brands, managing accounting for company-operated stores, licensed locations, and Starbucks' growing consumer products business. We are hiring entry-level Accountants for our Corporate Accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger accounting for assigned functional areas including occupancy, store operations, and labor costs
- Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and prepaid amortization for assigned cost centers
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and provide variance analysis vs. prior period and budget
- Support lease accounting activities under ASC 842 for Starbucks' large global store lease portfolio
- Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and SEC disclosure packages
- Work with external auditors (Ernst & Young) to provide requested audit documentation and explanations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (150 credit hours for CPA preferred)
- CPA candidate; Starbucks provides exam support
- Strong Excel skills; Oracle or SAP ERP experience a plus
- Customer-first mindset and enthusiasm for the Starbucks brand and culture
