Financial Reporting Analyst – Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities, wealth management, and investment management services with $54B in annual revenues. Our Finance division is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to support the preparation and review of Morgan Stanley's regulatory, statutory, and management financial reports filed with the SEC, Federal Reserve, and FINRA.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Morgan Stanley's quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) SEC financial filings and supporting schedules
- Support preparation of Federal Reserve regulatory capital reports (FR Y-9C, FFIEC 009) and FINRA net capital computations
- Perform detailed reconciliations between general ledger data and reported financial statement balances
- Coordinate with business unit controllers, legal, compliance, and external auditors on financial disclosure matters
- Assist with new accounting standard implementations (ASC 326, IFRS 9) and disclosure impact assessments
- Monitor regulatory reporting requirements and update report templates and instructions accordingly
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA candidate preferred)
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with SEC reporting and financial services industry accounting
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Oracle Financials, Hyperion, or Workiva a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under strict quarterly reporting deadlines
- High degree of integrity and discretion handling publicly material financial information
